ANTIQUE FOUNTAIN - TWO TROUGHS, WHEEL & PUMP HANDLE
The antique French limestone basins, one spilling into another are ready to be fed by an antique French Pompe de Chapelet or Rosary Pump. A continuous loop of rope/chain went around the wheel, down into the well below and comes back up through a pipe. Like a rosary, there are round discs or knots in the rope the same diameter of the inside of the pipe. Turn the wheel, the rope began to move, the beads drew the water up the pipe and dispensed it out of the spout. This pump likely was centered in a small village as a convenient water source. All of the pieces together create an engaging water feature for your home.
